*This week, 3 featured orchestras: Firpo, Canaro & De Caro*
From 9-10pm we take a look at the origins of the tango we dance to, comparing/contrsting the Traditionalist and Evolutionary styles founded in these three orchestras:
- Roberto Firpo: zippy and fast rhythms, crazy tango/milongas and vals --composer of many great tangos.
- Francisco Canaro: carrying the traditional sound into popular culture and sucess.
- Julio De Caro: turning tango on its ear, experimenting with melody & rhythm, and founding the avant-garde movement in tango.
